A beginner friendly desktop UI ...

Hi Tom This might be not an usual issue but in absence of a discussion / help column I use this instrument. Your headline of the project is "A beginner friendly desktop UI for Tasmota flashed devices". As an ordinary beginner I tried to follow you and install the TM to get experienced. After one minute I gave up because of the following unanswered questions:

    1. Which OS platforms are supported? Any chance for a windows10 user?
    2. Do I have to compile / make a binary like a developer?
    3. Did I oversee a installable binary? Or in general: How is TM installed?
      1. Anything necessary to run the installed app? Hope this basic stuff doesn't bother you too much. But maybe more practical users give you a kick for additional coding - your favour. Documentation is not the nicest job, but sometimes necessary. Thanks for your work and your answer.

  • Sortable columns

    Sortable columns

Hi, as issue #4 was already closed, despite having some suggestions for enhancements, I like to bring up at least this request back as a separate issue (Enhancement):

The columns of the device list should be sorted by clicking the head.

    Thanks Joerg

  • A customisable table, with more fields such as FriendlyName

A customisable table, with more fields such as FriendlyName

Hi Tom, I just wanted to start out by saying how much I do love this project. Looks absolutely wonderful on my Mac and if you ever need any help with testing do get in contact.

My slight feature request would be the ability to add and remove fields from the main table. It would be great in regards to finding which device for instance in my house each plug (we have around 12) gets a unique identifier e.g. 120-01 depending on which floor and then which room etc. So it would be great if I could have the Friendly Name in the actual table list rather than just on the side.

    Best, Christopher

  • Naming should be unique

    Naming should be unique

    A very tiny naming bug:

    • in status line appears 'got to settings'
    • in standard menu it is named File / Preferences
    • in icon menu it is named 'Settings'
    • the corresponding dialog window has the headline 'Preferences'

  • Firmware Upgrade Issue

    Firmware Upgrade Issue

When I use the Firmware Upgrade Feature in TasmoManager, the Manager is always using the release version of tasmota.bin. I try to use the development Version of tasmota_DE.bin but after upgrade I get the release version of tasmota.bin. Even when I use the Custom OTA URL its switching back to release version of tasmota.bin.

    grafik

Upgrade via WebInterface of the Devioce with the same Custom URL is no problem.

    grafik

I checked the message from the TasmoManager, it is sending the wrong URL.

    Timeline of the project

Hi Tom The community is uncertain if you are well or under sabattical? It's a long time that there is no progress to be seen concerning the project. Maybe you can publish a coarse timeline what your targets, ideas, etc. are.

  • Feature request: manage timezones & geo location

Feature request: manage timezones & geo location

In order to get local scheduler working correctly it is helpful to setup timezones correctly with

    • TimeSTD
    • TimeDST
    • timezone

And to also get sunset and sunrise times more accurate the location would need to be setup with

    • latitude
    • longitude

It would be helpful to have the setup/management of those also included in TasmoManager

  • Add unconfigured device locks up

    Add unconfigured device locks up

Program freezes partway through scan and becomes very difficult to kill, even with task manager. Since it doesn't auto recognize devices with older firmware (8.X) I was trying to bring them in this way.

  • Bug?

    Bug?

The GZIP button on the firmware update doesn't pull the .bin.gz file but just the .bin file according to the console output. Even putting the full path "http://ota.tasmota.com/tasmota/release/tasmota.bin.gz" in the custom URL field still grabs the .bin file.
